Trying to catch up.

Alright, so I haven't posted in a while. I was going to make August a record breaking month for blogging but apprently THAT didn't happen.

And being all inspired this morning to do that... uh... stupid blog, I can't seen to get the picture down loader thing-a-ma-gigg to work.

Darn it

Okay but a quick update.

  • Construction stopped on the house until we hear from the city of a time frame:
  • At city meeting, they said they were going to be doing everything in phases and since my house is in the last block on the last side of the project who knows how long that will take.
  • Homeschooling has started. *yay* last Wendesday. Day three dawns today and I feel like I have strep, so we're a little late getting started.
  • Tim's business is going super good. And he's trying to put together a Wisconsin run to pick up more product. Apprx three days or so... I wanna go but obviously can't, any voulenteers to watch the kids?
  • Cake business is going well. I've had a few orders in the last month. An order of cookies, and an order of cupcakes, and a Grooms Cake.
  • My BFF and her "fiance" woo hoo are working things out for a wedding. So totally excited for them. (patting myself on the back) It's wicked sweet to get to see my two best friends fall for each other. (shining my fingernails on my shirt) hahaha!
  • Levi is getting HUGE and today is 11 months old *sigh*
  • Samie loves school and is doing fabulous in it
  • Micah is getting to go quite a bit with Daddy these days and they're getting along better and better.
  • Mom and Dad came out to visit Sept 6-14th. We had so much fun an I want so bad to make a trip out there. Something to save for I guess.

I think that's most of the updates. Once I can post pictures I'll do so and then I WILL be caught up blogging.

Welcome August

Well August is going to be an eventful month. I won't have it any other way. I'm very excited to hangout with my BFF, meeting a girlfriend who's coming into town from Fargo, find out maybe what's happening with my neighborhood, via the town meeting, go to the State Fair, Sam's birthday, and of course preperations for when my parents come out in September. Oodles of busyness. I can only hope and pray all goes well.

I'm not as down as I was about this whole house thing. I know it is all in God's hands so I'm trying to trust Him and his knowledge of my future. More than likely, everything will work out better than it would have it we'd have fixed it up. We'll get fair market value, plus compensation for move and all that jazz. To put it shortly, it'll be an advantage that this is happening. I only hope that a farm that I want, is on the market at that time and we can take complete advantage of our situation.

Kids are wonderful and getting HUGE! Levi is sitting up now on his own and almost crawling. Craziness. So glad he can sit up these days, now I can give him baths in the sink without him sinking right into the water.

Sam is still in school for 1st grade, but I figure no biggie, she has no idea what Summer Vacation is anyway. She'll start 2nd grade in September after my parents leave. This year was definatly trial and error for this little endeavor. Hopefully this second year of this will be more productive and definately more organized.

Micah is turning into a little man and still as sweet as ever. He loves his video games and enjoys helping me out in anyway he can. I use the word "help" loosly.

Tim's business is going really well and we're excited over little things.. including the fact we just got business cards in the mail. Sad but true. Excitement abounds.

That's all for now. I'll post a couple pics and save the rest for another day.

Interesting Developments

Okay, so I have a long ass rant... I'm not sure where to start....

Ya'll know my frustrations with this damn house not being worked on right? I said my house wasn't even on the stove let alone the back burner... Frustration abounds, I get pissed... yadda yadda.

Today I find out something interesting... apprently my house being taken off the stove.. .has its reasons. God was totally guiding us on this one.

My entire neighborhood, block area is being demolished for a new commercial building area. Hotel, Medical buildings, business buildings, parking ramps and the like. Bids for contractors will start taking place in November and more than likely work will start next spring.

I'm moving again.

I hadnt' planned on that...

I hadn't expected to be kicked out of my house and get what they decide to give us for $$$ on this house.

I'm sooooo happy we haven't done a damn thing on the place but a bit of demo... THANK GOD WE HAVEN"T!!!!! We would have never been able to flip it. Our work would have been in vain and it would have all gotten torn down anyway, no matter how nice it was.

Seriously just kind of wandering in my thoughts here but knew it would make me feel better to get it all out.

Wow... just wow... I can't believe this.

I guess I should go back out to the garage and prepare for another move. Maybe I can be a bit more organized this time and realize it all doesn't need to go again... that I need to get rid of stuff.

Wow I'm a packrat.

grrrrrrrr....

thanks for listening...

Zoo Trip

The kids and I headed out to the zoo on Monday with my BFF Nicholle and her little friend, Gracie.
We had so much fun seeing all of the animals.

So I'll start with introducing the crew that went. :D
Me and the kids hanging out with the giant fake turtle....

Sam and Micah by the duck pond that was infused with flamingos.
Micah, Sam and Gracie checking out some tropical stuff...

Mr. Levi having FUN!

Micah, Mari, Gracie and Sam...

(Mari was our guide and a patient of Nicholles. She did so great explaining all of the animals to the kids. She works there and sacrificed a day off to hang with us.)

Auntie Cholle and the kids with the ginormous turtle.

Runt Tiger who's mama died and now she'll be small For EV Er!

Sam LOVED these guys. The baby will be leaving soon, to go to another zoo.

Can't remember her name, but she looks so regal just like... "yeah look all you want... subjects...."

And the glare almost drowns out the male lion, but we still got him.

Sparky the Sea Lion (Sams Favorite)

...and Max the Seal

There's also a huge atrium there where there were oodles of plants. Obviously my camera batteries were going out but I'll snap more shots when we go back. And we will go back... its free. :D

Pigs and Badgers

So I called and visited with my parents this morning. Apparently they had a badger...

... yes a badger, hanging out by their car. Now for people who live in the city, ya'll probably don't understand the menace that these things are. They dig holes in fields, effing up irrigation and endanger larger livestock. Those holes have been the cause of several broken legs on horses and cattle, in which the animal had to be put down. They're mean and they will attack.

So anyhoo...

Badger digs a brand new hole out in my mom and dad's driveway. And mom see his hanging out by her new car.... my dad, being the hero, goes and digs out his 44 Magnum, stands out on the front deck of the house, in his striped jammies, cracks his neck like Roger Murtaugh and gets the badger, on the run.

As if this wasn't good enough, he didn't kill it. It is wounded and head back into its hole. My dad is notorious for shooting things in the ass, so I'm sure that where he hit it. Unfortunately, if there's something worse than a badger, its an injured badger, so dad sneaks up to the hole, and waits.... and waits.... and waits.... nothing. So my dad, being the resourceful man that he is, pours diesel down the hole and lights it. So if the damn badger didn't die from a gunshot wound in the ass, he died of smoke inhilation....

Crazy morning....

But this wasn't my first laugh this morning. I get up and pour myself some yummy coffee, using my new Tiramasu creamer (yes! Tiramasu! SHUT UP!) and I check out my window. I notice my neighbors, of whom I swear are Greeks...

are up and awake...

The reason I think they're Greek, obviously you've seen the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"

The dad uses Windex for everything right? My neighbors CONSTANTLY clean their minivan with windex... Whatever right? (my neighbor even LOOKS like him!)

Remember the scene where they're roasting the pig outsite their house when they meet whatsherfaces's soon to be inlaws.... yeah...

Yeah, my neighbors got one of those too...

All in all... an eventful morning.... Now I'm off to decorate cakes...
