With my mom and dad out this fall, we had Christmas and halloween all in one month. Carving pumpkins was interesting to say the least.
Sam, my girly girl, well, as they say a picture is worth a thousand words...
Micah got into it 
and the fact my mother actually had her hands in the guts of it, was absolutely wonderful.

The costumes turned out really well. Sam had wonderfully pink hair, and my son looked like something out of OZ with his goatee.
We also had a very fall Christmas, complete with tree and brown paper packages. 
Mom made beautiful handmade quilts for the kids, of which I'm certain will be treasured for their lifetime. Such wonderful memories.
